Busta Rhymes-životopis
Busta Rhymes prišiel na svet svojím rodičom, ktorí mali korene na Jamajke v roku 1972. Narodil sa v brooklinskej štvrti East Flatbush, odkial sa o jedenásť rokov neskôr presťahoval na Long Island, kde za pár rokov začal chodiť na strednú školu. Už v pubertálnom veku sa dostal k rapovej hudbe a medzi jeho najvätšie vzory v tej dobe patrili napríklad Public Enemy alebo Eric B. & Rakim, žijúci vlastne v tej istej časti mesta ako mladý Busta. So svojími tromi spolužiakmi zo školy, ktorí si hovorili Charlie Brown, Dinco D a Cut Monitor Milo, založil na konci osemdesiatých rokov skupinu Leaders of the New School. Už ako násťroční (Busta mal v tej dobe iba 17 rokov) sa upisujú Elektra Records, aby u nich v roku 1991 debutovali dnes už klasickím počinom "A Future Without a Past". O dva roky neskôr o sebe ešte Leaders of the New School dávajú vedieť druhým albumom, nesúcim názov "T.I.M.E.", po ktorom už sa však ich cesty nadobro rozišli a Busta, vedomí si svojho potenciálu, sa začína zameriavať na dráhu sólo umelca. Ako hosť sa objavuje napríklad na albumoch takích umelcov, ako LL Cool J, Notorious Big, Craig Mack, či A Tribe Called Quest (v notoricky známej peckovici "Scenario") a pomaličky, potichu si tým zvyšuje svoje renomé. To už sa ale píše rok 1996, v ktorom na labeli Elektra so svojou prvotinou "The Coming" Busta debutuje. Samotnému hlavnému artistovi to okrem jeho domácej partičky Flipmode Squad, vypomáhajú aj napr. Redman či Q-Tip a o zaujímavé hity (za všetky napríklad šláger "Woo Hah!! s hosťujúcim Rampage) ani zďaleka není núdza. Len dodám, že sa album stal, čo sa týka predajnosti, samozrejme zlatým.
O rok neskôr, presnejšie v roku 1997, prichádza Busta Rhymes s novou doskou a svetlo sveta uzrie jeho "When Disaster Strikes...", na ktorej je počuť aj P-Diddyho, Erykah Badu a samozrejme tiež celý Flipmode Squad a ktorá mimochodom obsahovala niekolko hitov typu "Turn It Up Fire It Up" (s motívom znelky úžastného seriálu Knigh Rider), "Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See" či "Rhymes Galore". Tak produktívne obdobie zakončuje Rhymes ani nie po roku, keď vypúšťa svoj tretí kúsok nazvaný "Entinction Level Event : The Final World Front", kde sa po jeho boku mimo iného objavuje aj Janet Jackson, Mystikal a dokonca Ozzy Osbourne! Ako kométy na albume zažiarili pecky ako "Gimme Some More", "Party Is Goin' On Over Here" alebo "What The F**k You Want!!", vďaka ktorím Bustov fejm rástol stále viac a viac. Medzi významnejšie momenty v Bustovej hudobnej kariére môžme bezpochyby počítať aj spoločný album "Imperial" so svojou, už spomenutou partiou Flipmode Squad, ktorú vtedy okrem jeho samotného ešte tvorí Rampage, Serious, Spliff Star, Lord Have Mercy, Baby Sham a Rah Digga, alebo napr. účasť na celkom známej kompilačke "Violators". To sa už pomali ale iste dostávame do roku 2000, v ktorom Busta atackuje svetové trhy so svojím novým, v poradí už štvrtým albumom "Anarchy", obsahuje napríklad šupy ako "Salute Da Gods", "Enjoy Da Ride", "Get Out" ( s detským refrénom alá Jay-Z) či "Ready For War". Len pre úplnosť doplním, že album pod producentskou taktovkou takích osobností jako: Swizz Beats, Jay Dee, Rockwilder či dj Scratch, na majku okorenili napr. "večne zamračený M.O.P. či netopiery Raekwon s Ghostfacom.
Opäť približne po ročnej perióde od poslednej veci nás navštívil "neúnavný" Busta zase, teraz s projektom "Genesis" (P.Diddy v prvom single). Po nej sa ešte objavuje kompilácia "Turn It Up! The Very Best Of Busta Rhymes" (Rhino Records). Ku koncu roku 2002 potom vychádza Rhymesovišiesta doska, nazvaná "It Ain't Safe No More" (v titulnej pesničke s Mariah Carey), ktorú mu svojími beatmy vybavila tá istá partia, čo minule, a tak není žiadnym prekvapením, keď tu figurujú mená jako: Swizz Beatz, Dj Scratch či Neptunes. Samozrejme keď sa bavíme o Busta Rhymesovi, nemôžeme vynechať ani jeho hereckú dráhu, ktorá začala už v roku 1994, keď na filmovom plátne debutoval v snímke "Higher Learning". Do tej doby stihol natočiť už okolo desiatky fimov, z nich medzi najzaujímavejšie asi patria kúsky: "Finding Forrester" (zahral si po boku Seana Conneryho) a "Shaft", (pre zmenu vedla Samuela L. Jacksona) obidva natočené v roku 2000.
